Yes, it does require a higher ISO (among other things) to shoot in low light. 

As for producing more detail, well... there are trade offs. A higher ISO helps to keep your shutter speed high enough to stop action, but is more noisy and generally shows more contrast and a little less detail. It&#039;s kind of complicated.

Maybe this is a good idea for a future post.</description>

I have the Hillsboro Airshow close to me and we were watching them come right over our rooftops.  The recliner would rumble as they flew over.  Kinda glad it&#039;s over though....the dogs went nuts at times.</description>
