A Photographic Challenge.

January 27th, 2008

My Buddy Dave sent this challenge.

“So here’s a little play assignment for you. Find something that is interesting enough to hold your interest and shoot it first to stand on its own, ie: framed under glass. Then recompose the shot to allow some further use, like a magazine cover, or cd cover. I’ll bet you start breaking those compositional rules like a good chef breaks eggs.”

I had to try…

My son and I left the house Saturday morning on the way to a somewhat vague “social engagement” that he was rather intent on attending. When we got there, I figured it out rather quickly.

She was a rather attractive young lady. Good for him.

The engagement was well chaperoned, and he hinted that I should leave, so off I went. I had camera gear, but no fly rods in hand. I have a friend that will be visiting the area soon, and wanted to know if the snow would be a factor. What was I to do with the available hour but head to the canyon and check it out? Unfortunately, the light didn’t cooperate.

It’s still a great view though.

Good thing I went yesterday, as we got around 6” of snow today.

So, It’s a new year…

Or rather just another day.

Another day that will allow me to see the world with a view that I deem at the time.

Privileged is what I am thinking.
